Castle in the air

She's keeping it all together,
Tied so tight,
She's about to burst,
The skin taut against her,
Burgeoning memories,
Of yesterdays and twilight regrets,
Things she should have done,
Would have done,
That wrong someone,
The nights she spent,
Scarring her arms,
And stealing the life out of herself,
With endless baths,
And midnight drinking,
In the soapy water filled with lavender,
That never helped to settle her,
Trying to drown,
But never really getting there,
Smoking in rings,
That never quite settle,
The crumbling bricks,
With which she built,
Her castle in the air.
