In the darkness sailing by,
I watched the fireflies dance,
Against the backdrop of the night sky,
Glowing dimly, dimly,
And I thought I heard a voice call my name,
Oh, the reflections in the moonlit river,
The darkened mirror shows me things,
And the neverending river,
Flows away carrying the songs I sing,
The skies here never lighten,
And the river never ends,
It's the beginning of forever,
As I bail out the water with bloodied hands.
In the darkness sailing by,
I watched the fireflies dance,
Against the backdrop of the night sky,
Glowing dimly, dimly,
And I thought I heard a voice call my name,
Oh, the reflections in the moonlit river,
The darkened mirror shows me things,
And the neverending river,
Flows away carrying the songs I sing,
The water's blackened with my sins,
Tinged in scarlet,
Full of broken things,
And the reflections in the mirror,
Shows me memories at which I cringe.
In the darkness sailing by,
I watched the fireflies dance,
Against the backdrop of the night sky,
Glowing dimly, dimly,
And I thought I heard a voice call my name,
Oh, the reflections in the moonlit river,
The darkened mirror shows me things,
And the neverending river,
Flows away carrying the songs I sing,
I will never again see spring,
I hear your voice,
It's calling,
I'm sorry but the water's coming in.
