Too fast

Here we are,
Trying to blend into the crowd,
Just another face,
Another name,
A persona that makes no sound,
Easily forgotten,
Even as we laugh,
Talk,
Breathe,
Live,
As we were told,
As we should,
Holding our masks in place,
In a world where,
So many are running the rat race,
We're just the kids,
That grew up way too fast,
How long do we have,
Till the burnout comes?
