Pride and Joy

Head up in the air,
Feet braced against the wind,
I watch as you take a step,
Towards the silent edge,
With bated breath,
I stare,
And pray,
Will you make it to the skies?
I can only hope,
That those wings,
Will take you high enough,
And these eyes,
Will see you soaring,
And share with the world,
My pride and joy.
