Help me to forget myself,
In the tumult of voices,
That ring in my head,
I am but a single weak cry,
In the cacophony of the media,
And their not so subtle lies,
Telling me who I must be,
Should be,
Would be,
If I but had these things,
But the shackles only grow ever tighter,
Even if I listened,
They never set me free,
The mountains of debt begin to crash on me,
I am but another,
Consumer buried,
By materialism and greed.
