The Mirror Dimension-excerpt

She felt the world twist away from reality, falling aside like a shucked skin off a snake, colours brightening and shadows lengthening as she stared at the man before her. He was dressed like a medieval knight, his white shirt unlaced at the neck and breeches the colour of dark honey clung to well-muscled thighs, a velvet burgundy ribbon held his dark hair away from his face. But what made her breath catch in her throat were his eyes. They were the molten gold of a blazing furnace ringed in ebony lines. His arms were lean, not bulky like most others she had seen and his face was sharp, the high cheekbones and straight nose were well sculpted. The world twisted again and she saw him, holding a book casually between his fingers, golden eyes turned away in distraction, dressed normally like every other person in the cozy little Italian café. Breathe in, breathe out, she narrowed her eyes at him again and focused. The world flipped and she saw him again, as he truly was.
