Drifting apart

You tell me you listen,
And I want to believe you,
But why does it seem,
Like we're further apart,
It's like the distance never ended,
Like the drifting away has just begun,
And the battle is not won,
I cannot bring you nearer,
To my world,
We're shouting across a ravine,
With no way to hear the truth.
